After seeing 50 Cent and G-Unit in Montreal, I was definitely hooked on seeing them Live in Concert. It was announced that Lloyd Bank$ and Young Buck were headlining a show in Portland, ME in September 2004. Given how relatively close the show was, I decided to get tickets, realizing that not only would it be cool to see Bank$ and Buck again, but Fat Joe was no one hit wonder. So I made the venture up to Portland, walked from the Hotel to the Venue, unlike the concert in Montreal, this wasn’t a general admission show, they had chairs on the floor in rows. My seats were one full section back from the stage, but still pretty close.

Lil Scrappy opened the show and like David Banner brought crazy energy:

Fat Joe came out with the Terror Squad and put on a mediocre show, the best songs he did were those of Big Puns.

Finally it was time for the main event, Lloyd Bank$ and Young Buck. Well Lloyd Bank$ came out to his song Playboy, and well to everyone’s suprise, midway into the song, from behind the curtains out comes a big man wearing a bulletproof vest. Ferrari F-50, 50 Cent was in the house and was there to rock the stage. Place went nuts, the chairs put in place on the floor were now no more, the people in the stands were instructed by Lloyd Bank$ to get down on the floor level and to put there fucking hands up. What a show.

April 2004, I ventured up to Montreal with a few of my homeboys for a hell of a weekend. It started with us attending the 50 Cent concert at the Bell Centre. My first rap concert, I figured I might as well go all out and go see the most gangsta rappers in the game, 50 Cent and the G-Unit crew. David Banner was actually the best performance of them all, he came out doing back flips pouring hennessey everywhere, nothing but energy.

Following the show, me and my homeboys left the Bell Centre and headed to St Catherine’s St to begin our night, apparently we made the right call to leave the venue right after the show, someone got shot outside the venue 5 minutes after we left. Dude apparently was wearing a bulletproof vest, now that shit is crazy.

I can’t find any footage of the concert itself, but here is some footage of a David Banner performance:

Beach Boys

Very first concert I went to when I was a very young boy was a Beach Boys with Jan and Dean as openers. I’m proud of that concert because god damn, The Beach Boys are one of the greatest bands ever, so to have them pop my concert cherry was an honor.

I doubt I’ll find any real footage from this concert, It was in Nashua, NH in the early 1990’s.

Enjoy this clip of my favorite song of all time, God Only Knows - Live
